The indigenous people of San Francisco began to attack Google’s private buses: they paint their graffiti and smash glass. This is due to the fact that modern liners of technology companies, which daily transport more than 35,000 employees to offices outside the city limits and vice versa, interfere with public transport: they block bicycle paths and pedestrian crossings, and also delay traffic, without paying for it the city is not a cent. Last month, one of Yahoo!’s buses and almost crashed into a crowd of protesters against the ennobling of the central areas of the city.
Bus vandalism is just one manifestation of the confrontation between the two castes of Silicon Valley residents. The first are the indigenous people of the area: artists, artists and intellectuals, who at one time created the unique atmosphere of San Francisco. The second caste is made up of young and successful programmers, whose number continues to grow as well as their salary. As a result, over the past year, rent levels in the most popular areas of San Francisco have doubled. Now local residents are forced to leave their homes and move to the outskirts, while the city authorities are pleased with the new opportunities to improve the urban appearance due to technology companies.
